High quality, interesting places to eat are abundant in the local area. When researching, there are a number of good websites: Bridport Food Festival, Dorset Food and Drink and Trip Advisor - Bridport are a good start. In Burton alone there are four places: The Anchor Inn, (specialising in seafood) The Three Horseshoes, (community pub offering both traditional food and dishes with an Asian twist), The Seaside Boarding House (seafood and countryside produce) and the Hive Beach Cafe (seafood and cream teas). Other places to eat are too numerous to list in full. However, here are links to some of the best: slightly further afield in West Bay, there is Seagulls Restaurant, The West Bay, The Station Kitchen and Haddon House. In Bridport, there is The Bull Hotel and separate Stable, Dorshi, The Olive Tree, The Pickled Ginger and Beach & Barnicott. If you would like to have a specific event catered for during your stay at All Views, The Hungry Mule Catering Company will be able to meet your needs.
All Views can supply up to six Bed and Breakfast rooms depending upon specific requirements. Within this configuration, the family room has a glass balcony and adjoining twin room with shared shower room.
Highlighted in the Domesday Book, Burton Bradstock was one of nine places referred to in the hundred of Goderthorn. Prior to that, during Saxon times, the village was called Bridetone meaning the village of the river bride. At that time, the village consisted of 28 households whereas today there are around 1000 inhabitants. Proximity to the sea is a big appeal to visitors and at night, if you listen carefully, the sound of the waves breaking can be heard. It takes only five minutes to walk to the Hive beach – beautiful in all weathers, visiting is a must during a stay in the village.
The Post office in Burton Bradstock stocks a wide variety of local produce and offers a free cash withdrawal facility. Modbury Farm and Shop is situated about a mile outside Burton, along the valley road. The village also supports Jayne’s – a family run hair and beauty salon. There is also a car garage and petrol station.
